A Walk Through The Morristown

Imagine waking up in a home that has every feature you could possibly imagine. In the Morristown, that dream becomes a reality. Your day starts on the upper floor, in the airy master bedroom. With sunlight streaming through the windows, you’ll look forward to starting your day. Everything you’ll need will be in the enormous his-and-her walk-in closets off the master bedroom. The larger of these two closets features shelving and a central chest of drawers for jewelry, shoes and other accessories.

When you leave the master bedroom, you’ll enter a lofted area that gives you a grand view down into the great room. Near the stairs, you’ll see that there is space to install an elevator and there is also a home gym in case you want to get some exercise in before breakfast.

Where would you like to enjoy your morning meal? On school days, you’ll almost certainly gather the family around the massive kitchen island or in the nook just off of the kitchen. On sunny summer mornings, take your coffee and a piece of toast out to the adjoining outdoor living space so that you can enjoy the fresh morning air.

On weekdays, the office will certainly come in handy. This room gives you ample space for an executive desk, shelving and everything else that you need to run your business. You’ll also have your own private porch, so whenever the weather is nice, you can grab your laptop and get some sunshine while you work.

The Morristown is ideal for families that enjoy hosting guests. On the lower floor, you can offer overnight guests the comforts of your guest suite, which has its own private bathroom. Then, of course, there is the outdoor living space, where guests can enjoy the shade all afternoon. And, on the upper floor, there is a vaulted games room with wet bar plus plenty of storage. This is a great place for a small home theater, a pool table or something else.

The dining room will be invaluable for formal occasions. This room opens into a butler’s pantry that leads to the kitchen, which gives you a place to stage each course of a meal. When the dinner is over, use the butler’s pantry to remove dishes quickly and easily without making several treks back and forth between the kitchen.

Speaking of the kitchen, if you enjoy cooking, then you are in for a surprise. The Morristown’s kitchen is professional, something that a chef would envy, with space for an extra wide range, wall ovens, and so much more. Just off the kitchen is a huge pantry with lots of shelving and space for an extra refrigerator and freezer, which you will certainly need to stock up on all of your favorite exotic foods.

Why buy from us?

We are the original designers of every home displayed and available on this website. Though you may sometimes find our home plans advertised and for sale elsewhere, it makes sense to purchase your plan directly. Place your order confidently knowing your home plans come from the original source, and that you have the support of the designer of your home.

Firstly, as the original designer and copyright owner - we can beat any lower price you find a Mascord plan for sale - on any website authorized to sell our plans. Before you make your purchase, simply give us a call, direct us to the site you have seen the lower advertised price, and we'll not only match that price - we'll also give you a further 5% discount and extra special customer care :-). (The advertised plan must be the same as the plan being purchased, including product type - 5 Set, 8 Set, Hybrid, Reproducible, or CAD File, etc). Our standard price-beating guarantee refers to regularly listed prices, but if you find any coupon, special offer, bonus offer, freebies or rebate offered on a competing website, call us, tell us where it is, and we'll see if we can beat that too!

Secondly, as owners and original designers of all the plans in our collection, we have ultimate version control of all the construction drawings, and regularly update our drawings to meet forever changing building codes. Buying directly means that plan support comes directly from the creators of the design. We also have exclusive access to our entire catalog of CAD drawings, with the ability to modify them quickly and cost effectively, or even provide a previously modified version of a stock plan that is not available with any other authorized seller. Call our customer care staff to discuss any modifications you would like to have done, and if the modification exists already - it can save you lots of time and cost. You're not going to find that anywhere else!

Furthermore, we know our plan collection inside out! If you have questions about an element in the design, or even a question during construction - we are the ones able to answer those questions for you, quickly and accurately.

We support all of the plans we sell, and purchasing direct, you're able to take advantage of the high level of customer service we provide. If you have any questions, or to simply place an order for your home plans, call 800 411 0231.

Will This Design Work For Your Location?

All house plans licensed by Alan Mascord Design Associates Inc are designed and detailed to conform to The International Residential Code (for orders out of state), or Oregon and Washington local state codes (for orders in those states). We typically calculate and provide sizing of beams for a snowload of 25 psf. You may need beams sized to accommodate larger roof loads specific to your region. We are able to help with this; please speak with our sales staff to discuss your options.

To find out exactly what details you should expect with your Mascord house plans, see "What's included in a Plan Set?"

Some regions have additional engineering requirements, such as earthquake-prone areas of California and the Pacific Northwest, or the Gulf, Florida, & Carolina coasts that are frequented by hurricanes. Additional Wind and Seismic engineering drawings are required to accompany your home plans to obtain a building permit in most areas. These additional drawings need to be provided and stamped by a professional licensed in your state. In most cases we have working relationships established with engineers who can help you obtain the necessary drawings cost effectively, or you are welcome to source your own local engineer.

Your area may have specific energy codes that have to be followed. Compliance could include filling out forms providing evidence that your construction drawings meet requirements. In many cases the forms are simple and can be filled out by yourself, or with the aid of your General Contractor.

Building jurisdictions in several states - including California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada and Illinois - require that your home design is reviewed and entire construction drawings stamped by a local professional. If you are building in such an area, it is most likely you will need to hire a state licensed structural engineer to analyze the design and provide additional drawings and calculations required by your local building department.

In addition to the construction drawings, you may also need a site plan that shows where the house is going to be located on your chosen property, along with any grading and water management / septic system requirements.

If you aren’t sure what may be required, contact your building department and ask for a list of all of the items they require to submit for and obtain a building permit.

Although we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of our design information, we reserve the right to make corrections on our floor plans or elevations as needed.
