A Walk Through The Renard

Few homes feature the sleek, sophisticated modernity of the Renard. The mixture of exterior textures and colors is both stylish and inviting. Your home will certainly stand out from all the rest in your neighborhood.

Inside, you’ll find a living space tailor made for busy young Millennials. The first room you’ll encounter is the home office, which features closet space and built-in cabinetry. You’ll spend many hours here, growing your home-based business or telecommuting.

Moving further into the house, you’ll find a posh, modern living space. The great room, dining area and kitchen blend seamlessly together, giving you a massive space to host friends or coworkers. Best of all, this is a second story space that is packed tall windows, giving you and your guests an impressive view of the sparkling city lights below your home. In the winter, make sure you’ve got a roaring fire going in the fireplace so that everyone can gather around and warm up. In the summer, the second level porch will be everyone’s favorite place. Grill out on the built-in barbecue, or pull up chairs and enjoy drinks as you stargaze.

The upper floor is all about practicality. Here, you’ll find the master bedroom, richly appointed master bathroom and a second bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The laundry room is located on this floor, making laundry day convenient, and there is also an exercise area spacious enough for any equipment you desire. In a house this nice, you will certainly want to stay home as much as possible. Why not save time and money on trips to the gym by creating your own home gym?

The Renard’s lower floor gives you so many possibilities. If you have kids in college, then this area can serve as a small apartment, complete with private bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. Whether you are hosting family or guests, they’ll be treated to privacy and all the amenities of a full-sized home.

If you don’t plan to host guests or use the space as an apartment, then the lower floor becomes an amazing entertainment room. The kitchenette makes an ideal wet bar and you’ll have plenty of space for card tables, a pool table or whatever activities you and your friends love most. A door opens out onto a secluded patio, which is the perfect place to take a break from the festivities. You’ll almost certainly need to use this floor’s bedroom as a guest bedroom because when your friends come over to play, they’ll fall so in love with your home that they won’t want to leave!

Why buy from us?

We are the original designers of every home displayed and available on this website. Though you may sometimes find our home plans advertised and for sale elsewhere, it makes sense to purchase your plan directly. Place your order confidently knowing your home plans come from the original source, and that you have the support of the designer of your home.

Firstly, as the original designer and copyright owner - we can beat any lower price you find a Mascord plan for sale - on any website authorized to sell our plans. Before you make your purchase, simply give us a call, direct us to the site you have seen the lower advertised price, and we'll not only match that price - we'll also give you a further 5% discount and extra special customer care :-). (The advertised plan must be the same as the plan being purchased, including product type - 5 Set, 8 Set, Hybrid, Reproducible, or CAD File, etc). Our standard price-beating guarantee refers to regularly listed prices, but if you find any coupon, special offer, bonus offer, freebies or rebate offered on a competing website, call us, tell us where it is, and we'll see if we can beat that too!

Secondly, as owners and original designers of all the plans in our collection, we have ultimate version control of all the construction drawings, and regularly update our drawings to meet forever changing building codes. Buying directly means that plan support comes directly from the creators of the design. We also have exclusive access to our entire catalog of CAD drawings, with the ability to modify them quickly and cost effectively, or even provide a previously modified version of a stock plan that is not available with any other authorized seller. Call our customer care staff to discuss any modifications you would like to have done, and if the modification exists already - it can save you lots of time and cost. You're not going to find that anywhere else!

Furthermore, we know our plan collection inside out! If you have questions about an element in the design, or even a question during construction - we are the ones able to answer those questions for you, quickly and accurately.

We support all of the plans we sell, and purchasing direct, you're able to take advantage of the high level of customer service we provide. If you have any questions, or to simply place an order for your home plans, call 800 411 0231.

Will This Design Work For Your Location?

All house plans licensed by Alan Mascord Design Associates Inc are designed and detailed to conform to The International Residential Code (for orders out of state), or Oregon and Washington local state codes (for orders in those states). We typically calculate and provide sizing of beams for a snowload of 25 psf. You may need beams sized to accommodate larger roof loads specific to your region. We are able to help with this; please speak with our sales staff to discuss your options.

To find out exactly what details you should expect with your Mascord house plans, see "What's included in a Plan Set?"

Some regions have additional engineering requirements, such as earthquake-prone areas of California and the Pacific Northwest, or the Gulf, Florida, & Carolina coasts that are frequented by hurricanes. Additional Wind and Seismic engineering drawings are required to accompany your home plans to obtain a building permit in most areas. These additional drawings need to be provided and stamped by a professional licensed in your state. In most cases we have working relationships established with engineers who can help you obtain the necessary drawings cost effectively, or you are welcome to source your own local engineer.

Your area may have specific energy codes that have to be followed. Compliance could include filling out forms providing evidence that your construction drawings meet requirements. In many cases the forms are simple and can be filled out by yourself, or with the aid of your General Contractor.

Building jurisdictions in several states - including California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada and Illinois - require that your home design is reviewed and entire construction drawings stamped by a local professional. If you are building in such an area, it is most likely you will need to hire a state licensed structural engineer to analyze the design and provide additional drawings and calculations required by your local building department.

In addition to the construction drawings, you may also need a site plan that shows where the house is going to be located on your chosen property, along with any grading and water management / septic system requirements.

If you aren’t sure what may be required, contact your building department and ask for a list of all of the items they require to submit for and obtain a building permit.

Although we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of our design information, we reserve the right to make corrections on our floor plans or elevations as needed.
