The Wilson is the sort of home that families dream about during the Holidays. You’ll wake up — or the kids will wake you! — in the master suite, which gives you a beautiful view of frosted evergreens behind your home. Because this master suite has its own private patio, you can nip outside to take in the bracing air, or you can put the master bathroom and massive walk-in closet to good use as you dress up in your holiday finery.
Guests can enjoy a similar treat on the opposite end of the home, where there is a second bedroom that gives them a beautiful view of the same landscape that you’ve been admiring. This room includes a large closet, and across the hall, your guests will find a conveniently designed bathroom.
The kids will be waiting in the great room. Or, perhaps you took too long getting ready, and they impatiently decided to go out and play in the snow behind your home. As you light a toasty fire in the great room’s fireplace, you’ll be able to look through the great room’s windows and doors and watch the kids build snowmen or lob snowballs at each other.
Holidays aren’t complete without a feast to match, and that is where you’ll come to enjoy the Wilson’s kitchen. The L-shaped design and large island gives you plenty of room to prepare your meal or lay out batches of piping hot seasonal cookies. With the pantry right around the corner, all of your baking supplies will be at hand. In addition, the kitchen is only a few steps down the hall from the garage, which means that you’ll have an easy time unloading the car after holiday shopping trips.
Eventually, the Holidays will come to a close, and you and your family will go back to your regular routines. This is where you’ll really come to enjoy the Wilson’s amenities. For instance, there is a mud room connecting the garage with the main home. Here, you’ll have a bit of extra storage and a handy place to kick off boots and coats. You’ll also find the staircase to the upstairs flex space, which you’ll find can be put to a variety of uses.
On the other end of the home is an office and a big laundry room with lots of storage and counter space. Both of these spaces will help you streamline the day-to-day stuff so that you can get on with enjoying your life.
We are the original designers of every home displayed and available on this website. Though you may sometimes find our home plans advertised and for sale elsewhere, it makes sense to purchase your plan directly. Place your order confidently knowing your home plans come from the original source, and that you have the support of the designer of your home.
Firstly, as the original designer and copyright owner - we can beat any lower price you find a Mascord plan for sale - on any website authorized to sell our plans. Before you make your purchase, simply give us a call, direct us to the site you have seen the lower advertised price, and we'll not only match that price - we'll also give you a further 5% discount and extra special customer care :-). (The advertised plan must be the same as the plan being purchased, including product type - 5 Set, 8 Set, Hybrid, Reproducible, or CAD File, etc). Our standard price-beating guarantee refers to regularly listed prices, but if you find any coupon, special offer, bonus offer, freebies or rebate offered on a competing website, call us, tell us where it is, and we'll see if we can beat that too!
Secondly, as owners and original designers of all the plans in our collection, we have ultimate version control of all the construction drawings, and regularly update our drawings to meet forever changing building codes. Buying directly means that plan support comes directly from the creators of the design. We also have exclusive access to our entire catalog of CAD drawings, with the ability to modify them quickly and cost effectively, or even provide a previously modified version of a stock plan that is not available with any other authorized seller. Call our customer care staff to discuss any modifications you would like to have done, and if the modification exists already - it can save you lots of time and cost. You're not going to find that anywhere else!
Furthermore, we know our plan collection inside out! If you have questions about an element in the design, or even a question during construction - we are the ones able to answer those questions for you, quickly and accurately.
We support all of the plans we sell, and purchasing direct, you're able to take advantage of the high level of customer service we provide. If you have any questions, or to simply place an order for your home plans, call 800 411 0231.
All house plans licensed by Alan Mascord Design Associates Inc are designed and detailed to conform to The International Residential Code (for orders out of state), or Oregon and Washington local state codes (for orders in those states). We typically calculate and provide sizing of beams for a snowload of 25 psf. You may need beams sized to accommodate larger roof loads specific to your region. We are able to help with this; please speak with our sales staff to discuss your options.
To find out exactly what details you should expect with your Mascord house plans, see "What's included in a Plan Set?"
Some regions have additional engineering requirements, such as earthquake-prone areas of California and the Pacific Northwest, or the Gulf, Florida, & Carolina coasts that are frequented by hurricanes. Additional Wind and Seismic engineering drawings are required to accompany your home plans to obtain a building permit in most areas. These additional drawings need to be provided and stamped by a professional licensed in your state. In most cases we have working relationships established with engineers who can help you obtain the necessary drawings cost effectively, or you are welcome to source your own local engineer.
Your area may have specific energy codes that have to be followed. Compliance could include filling out forms providing evidence that your construction drawings meet requirements. In many cases the forms are simple and can be filled out by yourself, or with the aid of your General Contractor.
Building jurisdictions in several states - including California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada and Illinois - require that your home design is reviewed and entire construction drawings stamped by a local professional. If you are building in such an area, it is most likely you will need to hire a state licensed structural engineer to analyze the design and provide additional drawings and calculations required by your local building department.
In addition to the construction drawings, you may also need a site plan that shows where the house is going to be located on your chosen property, along with any grading and water management / septic system requirements.
If you aren’t sure what may be required, contact your building department and ask for a list of all of the items they require to submit for and obtain a building permit.
