The Houston home is designed to showcase a protected back area. Its triangular footprint maximizes rejuvenating outdoor features such as pools, lush gardens, or a stunning view. The Houston has it all: single story living in 2200 square feet, yet the bedrooms feel roomy. Join us on a tour of this home.
At the façade, the contemporary styling of the Houston house plans is clear. The protective front exterior communicates that a private retreat lies inside. A two-car garage is on the left, the covered front entryway in the middle, and a row of high clerestory windows on the right. Entering into the home, you find yourself in the sprawling shared living area: Living room, dining area, and kitchen share this L-shaped space, which faces rear, allowing inhabitants to continually enjoy their surroundings via two walls of windows. At one tip of the triangular home plan, a corner office is separated from the living area by a partition. This stunning space has a built-in desk on two walls. What a perfect “command center” or home work space this would make.
Crossing through the living area, and past the kitchen island, we find a spacious mudroom/laundry room leading from the garage. You can bet this room will help prevent dirt and clutter from mucking up the home. Walking back through the kitchen and dining area, we come to the private area of the Houston; three bedrooms in a row along the left side of the home, along one arm of the triangle. Two smaller bedrooms share a bath via a short hallway. The master bedroom is in the rear corner of the home. It is replete with built-ins, including a bookcase as well as a dresser with a plant shelf above. This unique design allows for an open closet area facing the built-in dresser. It’s modern, chic, and the perfect retreat.
The last stop on our tour of The Houston is the outdoor living space, a built-out covered area with a column and a generous roof overhang. With this covered area, including built-in BBQ, you can see your family enjoying this outdoor space year-round. The Houston modern house plans have the spacious feel and graceful flow that typifies modern design.
