Craftsman exterior details, such as natural stone, draw the eye to this house plan’s covered front porch. Stepping inside, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking 11-foot ceilings. To your right is a spacious garage, while a hallway to your left leads to a laundry room and front bedroom. A bathroom cleverly placed across the hall from the laundry room links up to a second bedroom near the home’s rear.
The spacious master bedroom is located in the back corner of the house, far away from the din of the kitchen and great room. Deep eaves here and throughout the Hoover house plan create a sense of serenity; they also improve energy efficiency and slash utility bills. The master bathroom boasts his-and-hers sinks, a lovely shower and a separate room for the toilet. Across from the sinks, you’ll find a large walk-in closet.
Walking back out the master bedroom and down the hall, you’ll find yourself in the living/dining room, with its 9-foot ceilings and open connection to the kitchen. The Hoover is set up for “rear-facing living,” meaning its shared living space faces the back of the lot. This is an excellent arrangement for those who savor their privacy. Gorgeous French doors connect the living/dining area to an outdoor patio. Turning around 180 degrees from the outdoor living area, you’ll find yourself looking at the kitchen, with its island and large pantry closet.
The Hoover house plan is green in several ways. First, as mentioned earlier, large eaves preserve energy in this home. Second, this single-story Craftsman design maintains a modest footprint out of respect for the land. Third, no bathtub in the design means those living in the Hoover will take showers, which use far less water.
