To make these small home plans “live large,” Mascord’s designers have incorporated expansive design features, including vaulted ceilings, an open floor plan, skylights and generous natural light thanks to numerous multi-paned windows. This single-floor design is ideal for those who would like to age in place, perhaps after raising a family. With three bedrooms, an airy shared living area and an optional full basement, these ranch-style home plans offer plenty of space for your whole clan. Let’s take a tour of this charming yet compact home.
The Patmore’s covered entry is centrally placed between the garage on the left and two large multi-paned windows on the right. Walking through the entry foyer with its coat closet, you’ll pass a hallway on the right. However, the plentiful light of the vaulted living/dining/kitchen “family triangle” area draws you forward, and you pass under a 9-foot plant shelf to enter the room. This unique design element wraps around to the fireplace wall in an L-shape, bringing a sense of unity to the room.
Here, no fewer than six windows bathe the communal living area with natural light. This room will remain bright and comfortable even in the winter, especially when the fireplace is blazing. Triple multi-paned windows grace the living room; a set of sliding doors may be found in the connected dining area; and there’s even a pair of corner windows above the kitchen sink. This flowing open floor schema allows these small house plans to feel spacious. A built-in pantry and desk will keep the space clutter-free.
Off of the beautiful kitchen, with its island stove and roomy counters, a door leads through the utility room to the double garage. This is the less-formal entrance your family will likely use every day.
Wandering back through the vaulted communal living area, you’ll make your way back to the hallway of these small home plans, which leads to the private area in the home, with two smaller bedrooms looking out onto the front yard and a vaulted master suite in the back for privacy. Each smaller bedroom boasts plentiful closet space and double multi-paned windows. A shared linen closet in the hall can house towels and toiletries for the shared full bath here. The location of the bath – at the end of the hallway – will make it easy for guests to find the facilities. Kitty-corner from the shared bathroom is the door to the master suite.
Entering the master suite, you’ll spy a walk-in closet on the left. Walking forward through a short hall, you’ll come into the breathtaking vaulted master bedroom, with (you guessed it!) a large multi-paned window. The master bath features twin side-by-side sinks; a lovely stand-alone bathtub with its own window looking out onto the side yard; and a separate shower. You’ll be able to easily imagine luxuriating in this gorgeous space while enjoying the view outside.
All in all, the Patmore small house plans are comfortable, visually stunning and bright.
